The draft prepared by the expert team formed to draft the labor migration policy has been submitted to the government. Ganesh Gurung, coordinator of the expert team, handed over the draft to Labor, Employment and Social Security Minister Sharad Singh Bhandari at a press conference held at the ministry on Sunday.
Minister Bhandari expressed his belief that the draft will be effective for the formulation of the national immigration policy. He said that the draft prepared by identifying the problems and challenges of the entire labor migration sector will be implemented as a government policy.
He said that the immigration policy will make the existing system and system orderly and legitimate, bring migrant workers back to the country and prioritize the production of labor manpower according to the demand of the world market. no The alternative to employment is employment,' he said, 'Nepali migrant workers should have a proper labor price and evaluation, for that we need to focus on the immigration policy and the foreign policy of the government.'
The team formed under the coordination of Gurung took nine months to prepare the draft. Coordinator Gurung informed that there are six policies, 24 strategies and 113 procedures for addressing the strategy in the draft. Gurung says that the draft of the national policy has been prepared with the vision of safe, orderly and dignified labor migration, internal employment and prosperity.
In the said draft, there is a policy to maintain good governance of labor migration management and expand everyone's access to information and services related to labor migration. The policy to protect the human rights of migrant workers and reduce all kinds of risks that may be caused by gender is included. In the
draft, it is mentioned that prioritizing internal employment and identifying the skills and competencies of workers according to the demand and trend of the labor market of the destination country. Similarly, from ensuring social security by ensuring sustainable and respectful reintegration of workers who have returned from labor migration, regulating and managing foreign workers working in the country according to national interests and needs is included in the draft is The ministry has said that it will make it public through its website for further suggestions on the issue.
