The speakers emphasized that VP Koirala's contribution to the development of Nepal's journalism sector is unforgettable. On the occasion of the 111th VP Jayanti, the speakers in the program on 'VP in Journalism' organized by the Nepal Press Union in Kathmandu on Sunday mentioned that VP Koirala has contributed significantly to the development of the field of journalism along with politics and literature.

Senior journalist Kamal Koirala described VP Koirala as a literary journalist. Recalling that at that time, VP published articles and works as a literary journalist in a literary magazine called Sharda, he opined that the contribution made by VP in the political and literary fields of Nepal should not be forgotten by the new generation.

He said, 'VP Koirala is also a journalist of Nepal. He became the secret publisher of Sarada and other literary magazines. VP Koirala made a mistake by starting the armed revolution. But later he came back home again. He contributed to the country's political and literary fields as well as journalism.'

Harihar Virhi, another senior journalist and former president of the Federation of Nepalese Journalists, recalled that the VP treated all journalists with respect. 'He is the only leader who used to arrange the expenses of publishing the newspaper and make them write against him. "He used to encourage journalism," he said, "even though the VP thought of running a newspaper as a mouthpiece to establish democracy, it remained incomplete."

He narrated many examples of how the VP gave respect, support and advice to the field of journalism. He did not think that this was his and this was someone else's. Many journalists from here used to go to Vanaras to understand his views. But even though he knew that he was a suspicious person, he met him easily. He used to talk. I would like to get information from here. He spoke his opinion confidently. And he used to say that we cannot print those thoughts of mine. But on the contrary, VP Shaan came and sat there. They used to write the opposite thing here saying that the security guard was also given by the Indian government,' Virhi recalled, 'even knowing that they would do the same, the VP did not discriminate that it was a communist. Or it is royalist. Or he did not say who it is by looking at the person. He used to treat everyone equally.' In the

program, former president of Nepal Journalist Federation and senior journalist Kishore Nepal mentioned that VP Koirala has made a great contribution to the country and said that the new generation should also learn from it and move forward. He pointed out the need for journalists of the new generation to do journalism in such a way as not to allow Nepali language to be exploited.

He said, 'VP Koirala has done a great job. We have not been able to do anything like that. As big as the works have been. Sometimes it seems that it is time to collapse. Looking at the current state of social networks, looking at the state of newspapers, looking at the current radios, there is no accountability towards the country in this country.'
