There was a severe flood this afternoon from above Thame village located in Khumbu Pasanglhamu rural municipality-5. It is said that a hotel and two houses in Thame village were swept away by the severe flood.
President of Khumbu Pasanglhamu Rural Municipality, Mingma Sherpa, while giving this information, has speculated that the avalanche in Thame area has burst. But it is not certain.
Chief District Officer Devi Pandey informed that the flood has caused damage in Thame village and the flow of water in Dudhkoshi river has increased. She said that the local residents of the coastal area have been alerted to be alert as the Dudhkoshi river is getting flooded.
According to Prajia Pandey, security personnel have been sent to Thame from Namche. Lamakaji Sherpa, a resident of Namche, said that it takes five hours to walk from Namche to Thame. Locals have estimated that the glacier in Tashilapcha base camp has burst. According to the local administration and the police, it will take time to get the exact details of the damage.
