After it was opened to the general public, there was a crowd of climbers on the first day on Thursday. Koshnath Adhikari, head of the Central Project Implementation Unit under the Urban Development and Building Construction Department, said that tickets have been booked for climbing the Dharahara till Sunday.

The government had decided to temporarily put Dharahara into operation from Thursday on the occasion of Constitution Day. The chief officer of the unit said that when the Dharara, which was destroyed by the 2072 earthquake, was opened after nine years, there was a huge crowd of people on the first day and there was a challenge in security management.

'Until further arrangement, it was arranged for six hundred people to climb the Dharahara for free every day. But there is an official record that 1,200 people climbed the Dharahara on the first day itself," he said. According to him, some people climbed the tower without tickets.

He said, 'It was extremely crowded today. Starting tomorrow, we will systematically allow only six hundred people to board.' The Ministry of Urban Development awarded the contract to GITC Raman Construction Joint Venture Company to build the tower. Dharahara was completely damaged by the devastating earthquake that happened on 12th Baisakh 2072.

On 14 October 2075, the reconstruction of Dharahara was started by the National Reconstruction Authority of the Government of Nepal. Prime Minister Oli inaugurated Dharahara on 11th Baisakh of 2078. The Central Project Implementation Unit has launched the website 'dharahara.com.job.np' for booking to climb Dharahara.

In 1882, on the order of Maharani Lalit Tripurasundari, General Bhimsen Thapa built a 61.88 meter high 11-story tower. In 1913, Dharahara was destroyed by lightning and in 1923, Dharahara was restored. In the year 1990 on January 2, the tower collapsed again due to the earthquake.

In 1992, the Dharahara was reduced from 11 floors to nine floors after it was reconstructed by the then Rana Prime Minister Juddha Shamsher Rana. Similarly, the Dharahara was completely damaged by the devastating earthquake that occurred on 12th Baisakh, 2072. Similarly, Prime Minister Oli started the campaign 'My Dharahara, I will build it' on February 4, 2072.
