Cancer treatment services have been expanded in three regional hospitals of the country. The treatment service has been extended to Seti Provincial Hospital at Dhangadhi in Kailali, Surkhet Provincial Hospital and Koshi Provincial Hospital at Biratnagar in Morang.

BP Koirala Memorial Cancer Hospital at Bharatpur in Chitwan will help to start cancer treatment services at Seti Provincial Hospital. In

hospital, an agreement was reached between the two hospitals on Wednesday in this regard. On behalf of BP Koirala Memorial Cancer Hospital, Bharatpur, Executive Director Dr. Shivji Paudel and Chief Medical Superintendent Dr. Sher Bahadur Kamar on behalf of Seti Provincial Hospital signed the agreement.

On behalf of BP Koirala Memorial Cancer Hospital, an agreement has already been reached with Surkhet Provincial Hospital and Koshi Provincial Hospital. According to the ministry, there are plans to expand this service to Madhesh province as well.

Health and Population Minister Pradeep Paudel approved the National Cancer Control Strategy, 2024-30 when he assumed office on June 31. The goal is to expand cancer treatment services to all seven provinces.

After that, on July 27th, Minister Poudel announced that he would expand cancer treatment services in all seven provinces when he announced his plans and priorities.

Soon after this, BP Koirala Memorial Cancer Hospital started treatment services by signing an agreement for extended treatment services in the hospitals under its charge.
