30,000 women received services from the maternity home

The hospital celebrated its 65th anniversary on Monday. In a program organized here on the occasion, the director of the hospital, Dr. Shri Prasad Adhikari, informed that last year, 2,787 people were admitted for neonatal intensive care and 454 for maternal intensive care. He said that 194 thousand 490 people have taken the service for external service.

In the year 2016, on the 10th of August 2016, on the day of Shri Krishna Janmashtami, the hospital was established with 40 beds and currently 489 beds are in operation. Director Dr. Adhikari, highlighting the annual activities of the hospital, mentioned that 22,379 of the 25,116 who were admitted to obstetrics delivered 22,613 babies.

He said, '9 thousand 652 people (43 percent) were operated on out of cool deliveries. That number is four percent more than last year.' In the last year, nine thousand 11 Clients related to childlessness took services from OPD. Out of which 222 women received IUI services and 20 childless clients received IVF services.

On the initiative of the Ministry of Health and Population, for the first time in Nepal, the work of 'Neonatal Screening Test' has been started in this hospital from 29th of July. In addition, the hospital has recently started mental health services. On the occasion of the anniversary, healthy babies from birth to 45 days, 45 days to 6 months and 6 months to one year were awarded.
