The number of cholera infected in the country has reached 25. According to the latest bulletin released by the Department of Epidemiology and Disease Control (EDCD) under the Department of Health Services, the number of infected people across the country has reached 25.

The infection has been confirmed in two people in the last 24 hours. So far, 16 people have been diagnosed with cholera in Lalitpur's Godavari Municipality, eight in Kathmandu's Tokha Municipality and one in Kailali's Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan Municipality.

Cholera is a highly contagious diarrheal disease caused by bacteria of the 'Vibrio cholerae' species. Experts in the health sector have suggested to pay attention to hygiene and to drink only boiled water to avoid cholera and other waterborne diseases.
