State and local levels should make mother tongue the working language: Tourism Minister Pandey

Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Minister Badri Prasad Pandey has said that the mother tongue should be made the working language of the state and local levels.
In a program organized here on Sunday on the occasion of the establishment day of Language Commission, he said that the use of working language should be increased to promote the language. Minister Pandey mentioned that the number of languages in Nepal has reached 131 and this number will continue to increase. He opined that sound can disappear unless it comes in the form of script.
He expressed his belief that he has understood the ministry so far after taking charge and now he will move forward with reform and transformation. He said that by improving the culture, tourism and civil aviation sector under the ministry, he would be active in increasing the confidence in it. Minister Pandey, recalling that he had taken an oath to reform with truth and integrity, expressed his commitment to improve the situation in the ministry.
