  • A review of the decision of the Supreme Court to leave an additional 20 meters when constructing a structure on the banks of rivers in Kathmandu Valley is necessary

Chief Secretary Ek Narayan Aryal has said that the decision of the Supreme Court to leave an additional 20 meters when constructing structures on the banks of rivers in Kathmandu Valley should be reviewed. Chief Secretary Aryal said this in a meeting with officials of Nepal Chamber of Commerce on Sunday.

He said that the government will not give discount to the businessmen who increase the price of goods and cause shortage during the festival. Chief Secretary Aryal said that the Supreme Court's decision to leave an additional 20 meters when constructing structures on the banks of rivers in Kathmandu Valley should be reviewed.

He also informed that he is working on the preparation of submission of the government's opinion regarding the Supreme Court's decision that an additional 20 meters should be left when constructing a structure on the banks of the river in Kathmandu Valley. During the meeting, he clarified that the law related to black market will be modernized, but the punishment cannot be reduced. He said that the government encourages and simplifies the private sector, but there can be no policy reforms that benefit any individual, group or organization.

He said, "Especially during the festival, there is a shortage of goods and price increases in the market. In that matter, the Chamber should tell its members not to do that. The government has to facilitate the market. The Act related to black market should be codified. There is no need to reduce the punishment. We will improve the impractical provisions. My role remains in the context of encouraging and simplifying the private sector by the government.'

He also informed that immediate action will be taken against the black market businessmen during the festival.
