Meteorologists have predicted rain in Madhesh, which was dry at the time of planting. The Madhesh government declared the province drought-stricken after the shortage of water supply, not only for planting.

The state government also asked for help from the federal government. Senior meteorologist Shanti Kandel said that now there is a possibility of heavy rain in Madhesh as well.

In the last 24 hours, Madhesh is also receiving light to moderate rain. Meteorologist Kandel says that there will be no dry conditions in Madhesh province in the coming days. She said that there is a possibility of light to moderate rain in Madhesh province for the next few days.

'There is rain in Madhesh due to monsoon line approaching Nepal. Monsoon rains are especially concentrated in mountainous areas due to Nepal's geography. Air with water vapor comes, after it hits the mountains, clouds form when it goes to the upper atmosphere and rain falls where it is formed,'' said meteorologist Kandel . Tonight, there is a possibility of heavy rain in Madhesh too, she said. Due to lack of rain in Madhesh, only 46.83 percent of planting has been done till Sunday. 

Meteorologists have asked to be careful saying that there is a possibility of heavy rain in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki provinces today . Heavy to very heavy rain is expected in Gandaki Province, Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim Province tonight. 

195 mm rain in Dhankuta in 24 hours 

Dhankuta has recorded 195 mm of rain in the last 24 hours. Lumley in Kaski received 194 mm of rain.  There are some places of Koshi province and some places of Gandaki province with more than 100 millimeters of rain in 24 hours. 

Madhesh province has been declared drought-stricken despite the monsoon entering Nepal since May 15.
