The closed list of proportional representation candidates submitted to the Election Commission by the National Independent Party (NISP) for the House of Representatives elections is dominated by business houses, celebrities, and established influential figures.
The list of 110 people includes a large number of famous names from the industry and entertainment sectors. The list includes
Sachin Dhakal, son of Chandra Dhakal, president of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry and chairman of the IME Group. Similarly, Vidushi Rana, executive director of Kiran Suj Manufacturing, which produces Goldstar brand shoes and slippers, has been excluded from the Khas-Arya women's cluster. The presence of faces from the entertainment sector is even more significant. Miss Nepal 2019 Anushka Shrestha is in fourth place on the list from the indigenous women's group. Singer, actor and television host Asif Shah has been recommended in first place from the Muslim men's cluster. Human rights activist Mohana Ansari has been included in the list for Muslim women. Famous singers Satyakala Rai and Trishala Gurung have also made it to the proportional representation. The dominance of famous people among Dalits The dominance of established and famous faces is also seen in the cluster created to represent the Dalit community. Among the 15 Dalit candidates submitted by the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Rupak Bishwakarma Ghimire, a dermatologist and hair transplant specialist, has been recommended at number one.
