Former Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba had been winning here since 2048. This time, the Congress nominated young leader Nainsingh Mahar as its candidate instead. However, defeating Mahar by a huge margin, Joshi has set his journey to the federal parliament from Dadeldhura.

Out of the 45,543 votes cast in Dadeldhura, Joshi got 19,131 votes. His closest competitor Mahar got 12,121 votes. NCP's Mansingh Mal got 6,834 votes, while UML's Chakraprasad Snehi got 2,926 votes.

Who is Joshi?

Joshi was born on 30 Chaitra 2027 in Ganyapadhura Rural Municipality-2, Bajangaun, Dadeldhura. He has a PhD in International Relations from Jawaharlal Nehru University, India. He was also the district president of UML Dadeldhura in 2069 BS. He was defeated by former Congress president Deuba in the 2070 BS Constituent Assembly election. Joshi, who lost to Karna Bahadur Malla in the 2074 BS Provincial Assembly election, was elected as an independent candidate in the 2079 BS Provincial Assembly election.

Joshi's political journey has long been linked to the party politics of the district. He has joined the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) after joining the UML, Uyghal Samajwadi Party, and Ujjain Nepal Party.

Along with political activities, Joshi has also shown activity in the social and economic sectors. He has been taking various initiatives with the aim of economic empowerment and increasing production through community-based enterprises, and has been working with the idea of ​​expanding economic activities at the local level and contributing to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

Joshi started his professional life as a teacher. He taught at Bir Balbhatra Secondary School, Koteli, Dadeldhura and later worked as a teacher at Bhubaneswari Higher Secondary School, Dadeldhura.
