Silsila Acharya of Baglung, who was selected as one of the 100 most influential women in a study conducted by the BBC last year, is still continuing her waste management campaign during the Corona pandemic. Silsila's husband Sushil Khadka, who is also involved in mountain cleaning work to look at the economic aspect of this campaign, is currently on his way to parliament.

Khadka, elected from Baglung Constituency No. 1, has a master's degree in economics. He said that he will now work for a green environment and employment, including a campaign to make laws in parliament. Sushil, who rose through the ranks through Ovni Ventures, established about 5 years ago, has said that he will also accelerate his work regularly.

Khadka also said that he will support Acharya's campaign to create jobs and clean the environment by recycling plastic bottles and other non-biodegradable items thrown on the streets. In collaboration with entrepreneurs from various companies, Ovni Ventures aims to collect and manage hundreds of tons of waste from all cities in the country. The Khadka couple, who recycle 5,000 tons of waste annually, have now reached the state body and have expressed their commitment to move forward by connecting with the younger generation.

This couple of 39-year-old Khadka and 38-year-old Acharya have not limited their journey to parliament to just that, but have now set a goal to work in the employment of ordinary citizens. ‘Hundreds can be connected to the campaign for youth to stay in Nepal and earn 40,000 per month,’ says Khadka. ‘As a member of parliament, we need to make state policies and as people’s representatives, we need to create an environment for youth to stay in their own country.’ Khadka won the House of Representatives election from Baglung Constituency No. 1 as a candidate of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and secured 20,927 votes. His nearest rival, Bhim Bahadur Shrees Rana of the Nepali Congress, secured 11,984 votes. Khadka defeated Shrees by a margin of 8,983 votes.

Khadka, who hails from Baglung Municipality-3, Guthi, completed his school education from Beni and Baglung. He studied at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels in the United States. Politically, he and his family are close to the Congress. Along with Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) leader Swarnim Wagle, Khadka also joined the RSS and worked in its secretariat. He got the ticket when he was working in the field of mountain cleaning, utilization of plastic products and active in the field of environment through his wife Silsila through Ovni Venture. They became close to Wagle after Silsila supported him in writing the subject of environmental protection in the Congress manifesto in the 2079 general election.

Khadka plans to continue to be active in the field of environmental protection, work on good governance and create a calendar with the goal of creating jobs for youth in the environment and IT sectors. He has also claimed that he has planned to provide employment to more than 7,000 youth in the IT and environment sectors every year.
