Gautam of Hetauda Sub-metropolitan City-5 Sinchai Tole got 36,330 votes while his nearest rival Mahalaxmi Upadhyaya (DINA) of the Nepali Congress got 14,038 votes. Gautam was elected by a margin of 21,995 votes. Gautam, 37, has decided to run for parliament for the first time.
