Gauri Bahadur Karki, chairperson of the commission formed to investigate the Gen-G protests that took place on 23 and 24 Bhadra, has met Prime Minister Sushila Karki and briefed her on the work done so far. He informed that the statements of all those from the administrative and security agencies have been completed so far and now the report will be written after the statements of those at the political level are completed.
Along with the information that political leaders are being prepared to be called for statements from next Sunday, Chairman Karki also discussed whether to extend the term as the time will not be enough as per the new mandate of the commission.
He had requested for an extension of the term as the commission's term will also expire when he finishes his statement and has to work on the report writing and the jurisdiction as per the agreement with Gen-G.
He also requested the Prime Minister to extend the term of the commission by one month, and the Prime Minister replied that he would discuss it and extend it if necessary.
Earlier, the Council of Ministers meeting had decided to extend the term of the commission to investigate the incidents that took place on Bhadra 23 and 24.
