It has been raining since Tuesday in Paudi Garhwal region of Uttarakhand, India. Nepali workers from Bardia lived in tents in Thalisen in Paudi Garhwal. They had reached there for road construction work and could not come out due to rain. It was still raining on Wednesday. Suddenly, the landslide from above swept away the people along with their tents.

"We took it down to the river while looking, but nothing was found," said Chitra Bahadur Paudel of Madhuvan Municipality-5 of Bardia, who has been working on road construction in Bakuda village under Thalisen block of Paudi Garhwal for 5 months. And eating was going on. Some were lying inside the tent. Some went towards the forest . Poudel says that everyone inside the tent was swept away. According to him, a big landslide that came from 50 meters above the tent on the side of the road washed away everything at once.

Lakshmi Periyar and Bhupendra Khatri's arms and legs were also broken in the landslide. They are being treated in Haldwani. Kaligram Chaudhary and Ashok Pariyar, who sustained minor injuries, recovered after general treatment.

"Today, we went in search along the banks of the Indus river for 10/15 kilometers," Paudel said, "but we didn't get anywhere." According to him, the police and local residents are all involved in the search.

A paved road is being constructed in that area from Deghat to Jitpur and Ramnagar. On the same side of the road, the Nepalese have reached there for drains, parafit etc. Paudel himself has been going to Bakuda for 10/12 years. He is the one who took other Nepalis too. According to him, other Nepalis are also engaged in road work in the area around Bakuda.
