Sudurpaschim Royals defeated Karnali Yaks by 45 runs in the second match of the Nepal Premier League (NPL) cricket on Monday, thanks to an all-round performance by captain Dipendra Singh Airi.
After taking 4 wickets, Karnali, who had set a target of 140 runs, were all out for 94 runs in 19.2 overs at the Tribhuvan University Cricket International Stadium in Kirtipur. This is the lowest score in this season's NPL.
Royals' innings was topped by Player of the Match Dipendra, who gave away 23 runs in 4 overs. This is the Royals' third consecutive win. In the previous match, the team defeated Kathmandu Gorkhas and Pokhara Avengers. Karnali suffered its second defeat in 3 matches.
Dipendra bowled 3 overs in the power play and took 3 wickets. In the second and his first over of the innings, he had Priyank Panchal stumped out for a duck. Then he dismissed Mark Watt for 17 and Najibullah Zadran lbw for 1 run.
