Sudurpaschim Royals set a target of 148 runs against Kathmandu Gorkhas in the Nepal Premier League (NPL) cricket on Wednesday. After Kathmandu won the toss and elected to field first, Sudurpaschim scored 147 runs after losing all their wickets in 20 overs at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground.
For last season's runners-up Sudurpaschim, Harmeet Singh top-scored with 53 runs and faced just 20 balls. He hit two fours and six sixes in that. He was caught by Sahab Alam off Sunny Patel. He reached his half-century in 19 balls. This is the second fastest half-century in NPL history.
Similarly, captain Deependra Singh Airi scored 39 runs. He got life twice with personal scores of 11 and 12. On both occasions, his catches were missed. He faced 30 balls and that included three fours and a six. Dipendra shared a 61-run partnership with Harmeen for the seventh wicket in 25 balls.
Sudurpaschim did not have a good start. The team had lost 3 wickets for 4 runs. They lost both their openers Josh Brown and Vinod Bhandari for naught. Soon after, Chris Lynn was also dismissed for two runs and the team had lost three wickets by the time they scored four runs.

From Kathmandu, captain Karan KC took 4 wickets for 30 runs in 4 overs. Rashid Khan scored 23 in 4 overs, Sunny Patel scored 27 in 4 overs and Milind took 2 wickets each for 40 runs in 4 overs.
Kathmandu defeated defending champion Janakpur Bolts by 5 wickets in the first match. This is the first match in the Far West competition.
