Krish Karki, who was selected as an 'Iconic Player' from Kathmandu Gurkhaz's 'Talent Hunt', says that he is very excited about the Nepal Premier League (NPL). It was a matter of happiness for him to pass the first and second stages of the selection process and make it to the 'Top 7'.

All the players were training and preparing for the qualifiers. Everyone came to give their best," he added, "Since we are playing at the same level and growing, the competition was very tough.

Most of the players who passed the two stages and qualified for the final were experienced and had already played some matches at home. Shardul Bhatt filled the form after learning about the talent hunt from Kathmandu Gurkhaz's Facebook page. He was very happy to be selected from about 400 people who were selected in the 'Development Scot' from the

talent hunt. He says, "Most of the good players in Kathmandu train here. So everyone here is the 'best player'. However, he believed that he would be selected. I was already working hard. It is a pleasure to be selected for the first season of NPL.'

Atharva Paudyal has also been selected in the 'Development Squad'. Stating that he was happy after the selection, he says, "All the players were at the level of 19/20." We were mostly players who were playing together at the district level. In the end, anyone could have been among the seven because it was not common to beat 400 people to reach the final stage.

Organizer Nepal Cricket Association (CAN) imposed mandatory rules for all franchises to select players from the 'talent hunt'. They are now preparing for NPL.

The first edition of the NPL, established by CAN, is being held at the Kirtipur Stadium from Saturday. Where our talent hunt players will get to play with the biggest star players in the world. The league consists of 8 teams.

Krish, who is in his third year of graduation at a premier college, says it's a big opportunity for NPL players. 'There is a lot to learn as not only domestic but also foreign players play here,' he adds, 'how to be mentally prepared before the match, how to handle the pressure of the match.' Because of this, the bowling improves so much. Krish says that he is very excited about the NPL as it is a big stage game.

Shardul Khan, a first-year undergraduate at St. Xavier's College, says this move has created a golden opportunity for new players. Atharva feels that it is like the NPL festival which has been in the limelight for the last 2/3 months.

A class 12 student at Golden Gate, he takes NPL as an opportunity to learn. He says, 'We get a chance to learn a lot from this. You can learn things like how the players react according to the situation, how the approach is, how they handle the pressure

.' It has been a long time since he started playing domestic tournaments in the age group. He says that after learning a lot in the NPL, it will be better if he can apply it in the domestic competition.

'Unity has been seen in the players who represent Kathmandu Gurkhas. Everyone has the same mindset, everyone has to win. That's why positive energy is coming in the training," says Atharva, "The result is not in our hands, but the process and effort we do is. Being a young player, everyone seems to be making an equal effort. Everyone has to prove themselves in the NPL.'

Those who want to play for Kathmandu Gurkhaz in the coming editions also take the NPL as a very big opportunity. 'PM Cup' was the only way to enter Nepal's national team. That door has also been opened by NPL. Not only this, it is also an opportunity to introduce oneself internationally. They say, 'Nepalese cricket can improve if it can be sustained and grown.'
