Rigla Yadav, 40, has been elected as a member of the House of Representatives from the UML's proportional list. She was elected as an MP from the Madhesi Women's Cluster. The UML had named her as the number one candidate in the Madhesi Women's Cluster.

She has been farming on 16 bighas of land in Nawalparasi West, including on rent. Yadav, who has been farming professionally, says she will fulfill the responsibility given by the party with honesty. Not only farming, she has also run Nepal Garment Pvt. Ltd., providing employment to 25 people.

She said, 'I have been active in politics for 22 years. I have been connected to society through politics. That is probably why the party made me an MP by placing me as number one on the proportional list.' She has provided employment to more than 70 people through farming and garments.

She is a woman leader who has survived various conflicts within the party. Her specialty is her clear speech and assertive nature and continuous activity in politics and social service. In 2070 BS, she was a candidate for the Constituent Assembly member election from the then Nawalparasi constituency number 6 from UML. However, she was defeated. In the 2079 BS local level elections, Yadav, who had filed her candidacy for the post of Vice President from Palhi Nangadan Rural Municipality, was also defeated there.

She was criticized within the party for becoming a candidate for the post of Vice President of the Rural Municipality after being defeated as a Constituent Assembly member (from West Nawalparasi-6). She says that she has always tried to fulfill the responsibility entrusted to her by the party.

She joined politics in 2062 BS by becoming a central member of ANRFSU during her student days. In 2065 BS, when she was a candidate for the post of Vice President of SWU at Palhi Multiple Campus in Parasi, she was defeated by 6 votes. She was then elected as a central member of ANRFSU and worked in the party.

Yadav, who is a member of the UML District Committee for the third consecutive time, is the Deputy Secretary of the UML District Committee. She is also the District In-charge of the UML West Nawalparasi Women's Wing. 40-year-old Palkinandan is a resident of Sanahi Nandan Tal, Palkinandan Rural Municipality-6. Her husband is a farmer. She says that her husband is fully supporting her in politics.
