Dr. Lalita Kumari never thought of joining politics or becoming a public representative. However, the same Lalita has now reached the House of Representatives. She was elected as an MP from the Madhesi Women's Cluster by the National Independent Party (NISP) through the proportional electoral system.
A doctor by profession, she joined the NISP just before the election to the House of Representatives. She is a resident of Mirchaiya Municipality-5 in Siraha. 54-year-old Lalita was born on 2028 Jestha 2 in Lahiriyasarai under Imambari Mohalla in Darbhanga district of Bihar state, India.

Lalita, who completed her MBBS from Darbhanga Medical College in India, did her MD from BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences, Dharan. She has one daughter and one son.
As a member of the House of Representatives, she has said that she will play an active role in policy-making by prioritizing the improvement of the health sector in Madhesh. She said, 'Since I am a doctor, improving the health sector is my first responsibility.' However, I will not be limited to that, but will also raise my voice in Parliament against the problems faced by women, the increasing use of drugs, and social evils such as dowry.'
