Sharma won by getting 12,647 votes. His closest rival, Tekraj Poudel of the Nepali Congress, got 11,868 votes. After completing his school education at Dhaulagiri Birendra Secondary School in Baglung, he also ran an electronics shop in Baglung Bazaar. He was very interested in local radio and newspapers, hosting programs and writing news.
Sharma, who has been a supporter of every movement and good governance in his hometown, was active as a leader in the Genji movement and demonstration on Bhadra 23 and 24. During the Corona pandemic, he got the opportunity to get to know many people when he started distributing food on the streets to those who could not eat.
He had distributed relief materials during disasters including landslides in Dhorpatan. Despite doing small work, some even accused YouTubers of making photos and videos and posting them on social media. He never hesitated to raise his voice against discrimination and inequality in society. Even after being arrested and taken into police custody several times, he did not lower his voice.
He was also continuously active in protesting the 'Rupa murder' that took place in Baglung 10 years ago. After Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Chairman Ravi Lamichhane became the Home Minister for the first time, he also submitted a memorandum on behalf of the people of Baglung. The memorandum has not been heard yet. He said that he would not stop speaking about social problems even after reaching the parliament.
Sharma, who graduated from Ratna Rajya Campus with a degree in mass communication and political science, said that he would work in the fields of computers, networking and agricultural entrepreneurship. When he first reached the rural areas of Baglung, he said that he would organize tourism promotion programs in those areas. He said that as a member of parliament, he will play a role in formulating policies necessary for the country, continuously warn against corruption, and work to plan and support the happiness and sorrow of the common citizen.
