The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), which has already won four constituencies in Kailali, has achieved a clean sweep with the victory of KP Khanal in Constituency No. 2.
In Constituency No. 2, Khanal defeated his opponent by a huge margin of 7,108 votes. Khanal received 19,057 votes, while his nearest rival Patiram Chaudhary of Nagarik Unmukti Nepal narrowly lost to 11,949 votes.
In this constituency, UML's Surya Bahadur Thapa fell to third place with 7,886 votes. Congress' Bijay Bahadur Swar received 7,213 votes. Nepali Communist Party's Nanda Bahadur Saud got 4,369 votes. There were 1,7057 voters in this constituency, out of which 56,770 votes were cast.
