He has been continuously active in politics since 2047 BS. He was born on 21 Kartik 2029 BS in the former Sidin VDC-7 (currently Falelung Rural Municipality-7). Narendra grew up in a political atmosphere since childhood. His father, Deuman Kerung, was continuously the Pradhan Panch since 2039 BS and was elected as the VDC Chairman in the local elections of 2049 BS and 2054 BS after the achievement of democracy.

Having a master's degree in management, he has experience of teaching and lecturing at Siddhadevi Secondary School Sidin, New Model Secondary School Phidim and Panchthar Multiple Campus. He is also the founding general secretary of Kirant Limbu's social organization Kirant Yakthung Chumlung.
He In 2048, he was the district secretary of the Nepali Students' Union. In 2051, Kerung became the district joint secretary of the Teachers' Union and led the Trade Union Congress for 10 years from 2057 to 2067. After that, he taught at the Panchthar Multiple Campus from 2055 to 2067. In 2067, he was elected as the central member of the Democratic Teachers' Union.
Before 2078, he was the district joint secretary of the Nepali Congress, Panchthar. Then, he became the district president of the party through the eleventh general convention in 2068. While Kerung was the district president, he was defeated by the UML in the 2070 Constituent Assembly election and the 2074 Provincial Assembly election, and was defeated as a central member in the thirteenth general convention.
Despite losing as an MP and party leader, he was always active in building the district organization. He visited the homes of everyone he could and visited the people of the district. He was garnering goodwill from the residents. The special general convention of the Nepali Congress held last month has given him the responsibility of a central member. Kerung, who was given the responsibility of being the candidate for Panchthar immediately after becoming a central member, defeated Hastraj Sherma of the Shram Sanskriti Party by a margin of 2,424 votes to set up a parliamentary journey.
During his nearly 35-year political journey, Kerung has reached all the villages and settlements of Panchthar, which has 8 local levels and 60 wards in the district, and almost every house. Addressing the party immediately after being elected to the federal parliament, Kerung pledged to play a role in the development of the district and the formulation of citizen-friendly laws. 'I will never let the citizens and residents of the district bow their heads.' Narendra Kerung, whom you elected, will always be active in the parliament, raising the problems of the citizens and finding solutions. He married Mina Rijal in 2058 BS and has two children.
