Deepak Kumar Sah of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSWP) has been elected as a member of the House of Representatives from Mahottari-2. He was elected by securing 32,722 votes. He defeated his nearest rival, JSP Nepal candidate Sharat Singh Bhandari, by a margin of more than 20,000 votes. Bhandari secured 10,198 votes. Bhandari had been elected to the House of Representatives from this constituency in the last two elections.

During his studies, he received education from the prestigious London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine in the UK and the Institute of Medical Sciences under Tribhuvan University. Before becoming fully active in politics, Sah has also gained international experience in the field of health and development. He has contributed to public health and development programs by working for organizations such as the World Health Organization and FHI 360.
