Ramji Yadav of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has been elected as a member of the House of Representatives in Saptari-2. Ramji got 28,404 votes while Janmat Party President Chandrakant (CK) Raut came in third place with 9,880 votes.
Ramji's closest competitor was Umesh Kumar Yadav of Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) Nepal who got 14,263 votes. Satish Kumar Singh, who is also the former Chief Minister of Madhesh Province, could get only 3,557 votes. He was a candidate from Swabhiman Party.
Ram Kumar Yadav of Congress got 2,498 votes, Afroz Alam of Rashtra Nirman Dal Nepal got 1,120 votes, Md. Ziaul Rahman of CPN-UML got 883 votes, Suryanath Prasad Yadav of Nepali Communist Party got 426 votes, and Ajay Kumar Das of Rastriya Prajatantra Party got 374 votes.
Ramji, a 30-year-old elected from Rajbiraj Municipality-9, Biharpur, had become active in politics from the then Rastriya Janata Party (RJP) Nepal in 2073. An engineer by profession, he had contested for the House of Representatives as a candidate from the Rashtriya Janata Party (RJP) after the last Genji movement.
Out of a total of 1 lakh 5 thousand 922 voters, 68 thousand 540 people, including 35 thousand 543 women and 68 thousand 540 men, voted in this constituency. Earlier, Pushpa Kumari Chaudhary, Amar Kant Chaudhary and Sitaram Sah of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) have been elected in Saptari-1, 3 and 4 respectively.
