Leader and advocate of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSWP), Yagyamani Neupane, has been elected as a member of the House of Representatives from Morang Constituency No. 1. He received 27,367 votes, while his nearest rival, Shanti Pakhrin of the Shram Sanskriti Party, received 17,522 votes.

Khadga Phago of the Nepali Congress came in third with 11,986 votes, and Ghanshyam Khatiwada of the UML came in fourth with 9,823 votes.

Born in Taplejung on Bhadra 27, 2041, Neupane has studied up to the master's level. Active in politics through the Rastriya Swatantra Party, he has been expressing his commitment to work for the benefit of the country and the people according to the Constitution of Nepal.

Neupane, who has been raising his voice in favor of alternative, responsible and transparent political practices, has been known as a legal practitioner who has been in the news in recent years due to his clear and sometimes controversial statements on issues of public concern.

Active on social media and in street protests, Neupane has been presenting himself as an 'advocate standing up for the people'. He has been directly participating in political, economic and legal debates and making his views public on contemporary issues.

He had openly protested against the demand for loan installments and interest by banks and financial institutions during the COVID-19 pandemic. He had even protested by standing alone on the streets, saying that additional burdens should not be imposed on citizens in times of economic crisis. At that time, he demanded that the state intervene and provide relief to the debtors, which gave him a distinct image as a voice speaking in favor of the debtors.

Neupane has also been active in the debate on international aid agreements. He has been publicly raising questions about the MCC agreement, saying that there should be an open debate on national interest, constitutional interpretation and long-term effects.

Neupane had also raised the issue of illegal activities in the name of Intra Foundation related to the Bhutanese refugee case. He had publicly claimed that he had registered a complaint and taken the initiative to issue a circular through the relevant government agency.

He says that the issue of justice sector reform is his main agenda. He has been continuously raising issues such as the disclosure of judges' assets, speedy and transparent judicial process, and easy access to justice for poor citizens in public debates. It will soon be known what role he will play in parliament.
