Nepali Communist Party leader Barshaman Pun ‘Ananta’ has said that his party is ready to collaborate with the Rashtriya Swatantra Party. He said this while speaking to well-wishers after being elected as a member of the House of Representatives from Rolpa. He said that they are ready to collaborate in areas such as good governance, economic development and social justice.
Pun said that the good governance campaign they started during the 18-month-old government led by Pushpa Kamal Dahal should continue. ‘The National Independent Party has won the election. I would like to congratulate them and wish them well,’ Pun said, ‘We will have to complete the good governance campaign started during the Prachanda-led government. We work together on the agenda of economic growth, prosperity and social justice. We are ready to collaborate with the Rashtriya Swatantra Party on all issues related to the country’s interests.’
He argued that the country’s national independence is at stake and stressed the need to conduct mature diplomacy by keeping geopolitical sensitivity in mind to protect the country’s existence. ‘World politics is not that easy. "To protect and strengthen the existence of the country, we must conduct diplomatic relations in a very good and mature manner," he said. "Our country's independence cannot be achieved by leaning to one side or the other. Therefore, we must strengthen our nationalism while taking into account international geopolitical conflicts and tensions."
Pun pointed out that new and old political parties should work together to complete the remaining tasks of the peace process. Similarly, he clarified that there is no alternative to moving forward together to address the aspirations of the people and protect and strengthen the constitution and order.
