Ramesh Kumar Sapkota, the candidate of the National Independent Party, has won in Surkhet Constituency No. 2. Sapkota has hoisted the flag of the Rashtriya Swatantra Party in Karnali by winning the election for the first time. He won with 30,842 votes, while his nearest rival, Narayan Kumar Koirala of the Nepali Congress, was satisfied with 16,378 votes.

Sapkota is participating in the parliamentary election for the first time. He is the district president of the Rashtriya Swatantra Party and is also an established transport entrepreneur in Surkhet. He is the president of Kankre Bihar Transport Pvt. Ltd. and was the secretary of the Birendranagar Municipal Committee of the Nepali Congress before joining the Rashtriya Swatantra Party. He joined the Rashtriya Swatantra Party last November, saying that there was dissatisfaction among the general public with the old parties. Sapkota, born on November 15, 2036, is a permanent resident of Itram, Birendranagar Municipality-7, Surkhet. He said that he was active in various social services through the Rotary Club in Surkhet. He is also an activist of the cooperative campaign. Having completed his studies up to SLC, he said that he was successful in demolishing the old stronghold of the Congress-UML.

Sapkota, who entered the transport business as a co-driver in 2055 BS, said that he has come to this position from a humble background and will do public service work. 'I started my career with a small job, I was able to connect hundreds of youth to employment in the transport sector, so I am aware of the problems of the people here,' he said, 'I will stand with the voters to solve those problems and fulfill my promise according to the election agenda.'
