Dharmaraj KC, the candidate of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSWP), has been elected as a member of the House of Representatives from Lamjung in the election for the member of the House of Representatives. He was nominated by the RSWP for the second time and was elected as a member of the House of Representatives, defeating his nearest rival, the UML-Congress candidate, by double the votes.
Out of a total of 75,460 votes, he received 33,898 votes. His nearest rival, Prithvi Subba Gurung of the CPN-UML, received 16,876 votes and Gam Prasad Gurung of the Nepali Congress received 16,569 votes. Harijang Tamang of the CPN-UML received 3,371 votes.
KC had secured third place in the 2079 House of Representatives election by securing 9,299 votes. Prithvi Subba Gurung of the CPN (UML) won the election by securing 34,969 votes.
His nearest rival, Dev Prasad Gurung of the Maoist Center, the candidate of the then ruling coalition, the Congress-Maoist Center, received 31,781 votes. -Ash Gurung/Lamjung
