The first political discussion between RSP President Ravi Lamichhane and Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Balendra Shah took place on the evening of Poush 20. After a meeting that lasted for about 6 hours at the house of former RSP MP Asim Shah in Kamalpokhari and lasted until 1:30 am, Ravi and Balendra left in the same car, with RSP Vice President DP Aryal in the driving seat.

Aryal, who is also a close political companion of RSP President Lamichhane, has been elected from Kathmandu-9. Aryal, who became an MP through proportional representation in the 2079 House of Representatives elections, has reached the highest place of lawmaking by being directly elected this time.

Aryal, who ran the election campaign as the coordinator of the RSP's 'Election Editing Committee' in the House of Representatives elections, defeated his opponent from Kathmandu-9 by a wide margin of 29,063 votes. Aryal received 35,093 votes, while Congress's Nanumaiya Bastola, who came second from this constituency, received 5,460 votes. Here, UML's Ajayakranti Shakya received only 4,580 votes.

Aryal, who became an MP through proportional representation in the 2079 elections, has experience of working as a minister in the government. Aryal first became the Minister of Labor, Employment and Social Security on Magh 19, 2079. Aryal, who was in that position for only 13 days at that time, became the Minister of Labor for the second time for about four months from Falgun 2080 to Asar 2081. At that time, when the opportunity arose for the Deputy Chairman and Minister in the party as a proportional representative, even the leaders of the Nepali Congress complained that Aryal was repeatedly promoted. This time, Aryal has entered the parliament through direct election.

Vice President Aryal played a major role in saving the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) party in the absence of Ravi Lamichhane and bringing it to its current state. Vice President Aryal had kept the RSS united when President Lamichhane was arrested and sent to prison by the police on charges of cooperative fraud, organized crime, and money laundering. Aryal had led the RSS in politics as well as in parliament and on the streets.

The RSS secretariat meeting held on 2080 Poush 8 had given Aryal the responsibility of acting president in the absence of President Lamichhane. At that time, after the decision of the Parliament Secretariat to suspend the MP post of party President Lamichhane in accordance with the Money Laundering Act, Aryal had been responsible for providing political leadership to the party and leading it in parliament. After President Lamichhane was released from prison, Aryal automatically left the post of acting president he had received and returned to the responsibility of vice president.

After the Gen-G movement on Bhadra 23 and 24, some leaders of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) left the party. Leaders like Sumana Shrestha and Santosh Pariyar, who had held responsibilities in the party, government and parliament, had left the party and some other leaders were also in the process of leaving. Aryal called an expanded meeting of the RSSW central committee. In the meeting held in Chitwan on Kartik 21 and 22, Aryal told the leaders, 'We can never become strong by weakening the RSSW. We should never do the work of digging up the courtyard.'

At a time when leaders were questioning the leadership for positions in the party through social media, Aryal had said that the test of who is strong within the party would be through the general convention. If he takes the leadership, he had urged the leaders to hold a general convention and prepare to fight for positions there. He said that to move the RSSW forward, it is necessary to work under collective leadership, not a single leader. He had been raising concerns in party meetings about whether the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) would also follow the trend of the old political parties.

Aryal has also been saying that the cases filed against President Lamichhane in various districts are political revenge. Aryal had also demanded the opinion of the Sushila Karki-led government formed after the Gen-G movement regarding the cases filed against Lamichhane. At a program organized in Surkhet on November 26, Aryal had said, 'Why is the government of the people, the government of the citizens, silent? The then government had imprisoned party President Ravi Lamichhane in retaliation, but this government had to come out with a clear opinion!'

Aryal kept the RSS united in Ravi's absence and as 'visible' as possible in national politics. When the two largest parties in parliament, the Congress and the UML, had a two-thirds majority in government, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) protested for months in the House of Representatives under Aryal's leadership, demanding an end to corruption, rule of law, and good governance.

Aryal has been in the leadership of the RSS since its formation. He rarely speaks publicly and believes that the party should be led collectively and work according to responsibility.
