Swar was openly in favor of the Congress' special general assembly, while Shah was in favor of Sher Bahadur Deuba.
The Nepali Congress Achham has finalized its candidates. Former Nepali Congress Achham district president Bharat Kumar Swar has been selected as the candidate in Achham-1 and the party's district president Pushpa Bahadur Shah has been selected as the candidate in Constituency No. 2.
Swar had openly supported the special general assembly of the Congress, while Shah had openly supported Sher Bahadur Deuba. There is talk that the party has avoided a split in Achham after President Gagan Thapa gave tickets to both Swar from the party's side and Shah from the Deuba side.
Swar, who started Congress politics in 2033 BS, has once served as the president of the district development committee and the party's district president. Swar, who was a candidate from Achham-1 in the 2074 BS House of Representatives election, was defeated by the then UML candidate Bhim Rawal. Swar is a candidate for the House of Representatives for the second time.
Shah is a candidate for the House of Representatives for the third time in Achham-2. Shah, who lost to the then Left Alliance candidate Yagya Bahadur Bogati in 2074 BS, began his parliamentary journey by defeating the same Bogati in 2079 BS. This time too, Botgi from UML and Shah from Congress will be in the election fray.
Along with Shah and Bogati in Achham-2, Sharad Singh Bhandari from the Nepali Communist Party and Bhupdev Shah from the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh are in the election fray.
