With some time left for the election of a new leadership in the UML, campaigning has intensified. Candidates have intensified their campaigning inside and outside the convention venue, Bhrikuti Mandap. Lines of people seeking votes for their respective party leaders can be seen along the exhibition route.
Only representatives, candidates and volunteers have been sent through the main gate after security checks. Therefore, many well-wishers and supporters of the candidates are roaming around asking for votes. Some are walking around with umbrellas with photos of the candidates. 
People are also seen walking around the exhibition route carrying posters of the candidates and distributing promotional materials with photos. Some candidates are present with panchebaza to show their support. Similarly, Sushila Adhikari of Chandragiri was not in the bazaar group. Sushila Adhikari, treasurer of the bazaar group, said that they had come with remuneration, thinking that it would be a publicity for her group and the candidate as well. She said that they came from a group of 11 people and that they had come to make Santosh Khadka, the candidate for the post of special provincial member of the capital, win. 
The visiting cards and promotional materials of the candidates are scattered all over the road. Some candidates and workers are busy eating almonds and oranges and chatting politically. Some can also be seen making good use of their free time and shopping inside the Bhrikutimandap.
According to Sanuraj Pokharel, a member of the UML General Convention Central Election Commission, 603 candidates have filed for 301 posts of the Central Committee. For the office bearers, 2 have filed for the post of President (1), 11 for the post of Vice-President (5), 2 for the post of General Secretary (1), 7 for the post of Deputy General Secretary (3), and 20 for the post of Secretary (9).
