Leelamani Gautam has been elected unopposed as a central member of the UML. He was elected unopposed as a central member from Lumbini Youth (under 40 years of age).

The Central Election Commission has stated that he is the only candidate in the youth quota (1) of Lumbini for the 11th general convention of the UML.

He is also the UML district president of Rukum East. He has also claimed to be the youngest district president of the UML. A few days ago, in a conversation with Kantipur, he had said that the representation of the youth generation in the central committee should be ensured.
