UML Gandaki Provincial Assembly member Laxman Pandey was defeated in the voting held on Saturday to select representatives from the district for the UML general convention. Pandey is an elected MP to the Provincial Assembly from Constituency No. 2 'K'.
In the open constituency number 2, 8 candidates were nominated for the election of 4 general convention representatives. The winner, Bhimlal Adhikari, received the highest number of 1,034 votes, while provincial MP Pandey received only 340 votes.
