Congress has become the first party in Karnali by winning in five constituencies. From Congress, Khadak Bahadur Budha won in Jajarkot, Jayapati Rokaya in Humla, Basana Thapa in Dailekh-1 and Khadak Shahi in Mugu.
Congress has broken the legacy of UML in Dailekh-1 and Maoists in Humla and Jajarkot. Surkhet-2 and Dailekh-2, which it had won earlier, have been lost. He started politics from Nepal Students' Union and was the President of Bheri Gyanodaya Campus's Self-Student Union in 2064 BS.
Former Congress District President Jayapati Rokaya won in Humla with 8,797 votes. He served as the President of Nepal Students' Union and Tarun Dal Humla and became the Party President of Humla for two terms. He started politics from Nepal Students' Union in 2040 BS and is a member of the party's Karnali Province Working Committee.
Congress has regained its legacy after 12 years with the victory of Mahasamiti member Vasana Thapa in Dailekh-1 with 12,372 votes. Thapa, who started politics from Nepal Students' Union in 2057 BS, became a General Convention delegate in the 13th and 14th General Conventions of the Congress.
In Surkhet-1, Congress District Vice President Bishnu Bahadur Khadka has maintained the long legacy of the Congress by winning with 26,897 votes. He is the younger brother of former Congress Acting President Purna Bahadur Khadka. Purna Bahadur had won the election from this constituency 5 times and became an MP. Purna Bahadur was defeated from this constituency in 2074 BS and became a proportional MP once. Newly elected MP Khadka started politics in 2036 BS by standing in favor of multi-party politics.
In Mugu, Congress District President Khadak Shahi maintained the party's legacy by winning with 7,924 votes. Active in politics since 2046 BS, he became Congress District Vice President in 2052 BS. Elected as Congress District President in 2072 BS, he has been a continuous Congress General Convention representative since 2052 BS.
The Congress, which had won 7 constituencies in the second Constituent Assembly election 2070, was reduced to zero seats in 2074 BS. In the House of Representatives election 2079 BS, Congress candidates were elected in 4 seats, including both of Surkhet, Mugu and Dailekh-1.
