Som Sharma of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has won in Baglung-2. He won by securing 12,647 votes, informed Election Officer Bhim Prasad Subedi.
Sharma's closest rival, Tekraj Poudel of the Nepali Congress, secured 11,868 votes. While Gyamnath Gaire of the Nepali Communist Party got 10,709 votes, Manju Sharma of the UML secured 7,864 votes.
Sharma, who worked as a journalist and social activist, was active in the anti-corruption campaign. He was also at the forefront of the Gen-G movement. In addition, he was also seen active in other movements in Maitighar.
He has said that he will work to solve the problems of Baglung-2. In the last 2079 election, the then Maoist leader Devendra Poudel won from the Congress alliance.
