In the House of Representatives elections, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) candidate Badan Kumar Bhandari has been elected with a huge margin in Kavre-2. Bhandari got 35,476 more votes than his nearest competitor. While he got a total of 53,344 votes, his nearest competitor Madhu Prasad Acharya of the Nepali Congress got 17,868 votes. Bhandari got 100 percent of the total votes in this constituency. Gokul Prasad Baskota, who was elected from the UML in the previous two elections, was limited to third place this time. Ashok Byanju of the UML, who was in third place, received 13,940 votes, while the NCP candidate Basundhara Humagain came in fourth place with 8,107 votes.
Who is Badan Kumar Bhandari?
Born in Simthali, Bhumlu Rural Municipality-2, Kavre, Bhandari started his political journey from the UML. Born in 2049 BS, Bhandari started his political career with the UML student organization ANRFSU. He also worked in the district committee of that organization. After the UML split, Bhandari joined the then CPN-S and was recently active in the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). He is currently the Secretary of the Central Public Affairs Department of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). He worked very actively to provide health supplies to Kavre district and other places during the Corona period.
He is also a businessman who studied till graduation. He is the Deputy General Secretary of the Nepal National Entrepreneurs Federation and the General Secretary of the E-Commerce Association. He is also active in the social sector as the head of the Lions Club 325 I District Department.
After Badan Kumar Bhandari won, his brother Sahadev Bhandari said that people's disappointment and dissatisfaction led them to vote for Naya Shakti. Sahadev said that the growing dissatisfaction among the people towards the old parties is visible in the current election results. 'There was a kind of frustration among the people towards the working style of the old parties.' The current election results have clearly shown that feeling of the people,' he said.
He said that Badan has been speaking out against injustice, being an outspoken speaker and responsible towards the society since childhood. According to him, Bhandari was interested in politics since school life and was active in social work.
Sahadev Bhandari said that he is also a successful businessman professionally. According to him, Bhandari is associated with the e-commerce sector and is involved in connecting youth with employment through various products and businesses. He also said that he is active in social service through the Lines Club.
Stating that he has provided full support and assistance to the election campaign on behalf of his family, he said that all the brothers have supported him as one. 'We four brothers have always been united and supportive,' he said. According to him, Badan Bhandari is known as a friendly, cooperative, and decisive person in the family.
