Nepali Congress leader Pramod Kumar Yadav has joined the UML. After the Congress did not give him a ticket at the last minute, Yadav will join the UML and become a candidate for the House of Representatives from Rupandehi-4.

Yadav said that he decided to embark on a new political journey after feeling injustice within the party.

He said that he was forced to choose an alternative political path after the Congress snatched his ticket at the last minute. Yadav was elected as an MP from Rupandehi-4 from the Congress in the 2074 House of Representatives elections. In the 2079 elections, he was defeated by Sarvendranath Shukla of the Loktantrik Samajwadi Party (LSP).

UML leader Bhumishwar Dhakal said that with the entry of Yadav into the UML, he received a ticket to contest from Rupandehi-4. Yadav's entry into the UML has made the electoral equation of Rupandehi-4 more interesting.
