Acting Chief Election Commissioner of the Election Commission, Ram Prasad Bhandari, has warned against any unnecessary commotion, including playing music, while nominating candidates.

Talking to media persons at the commission on Monday, he warned against any act of fanfare, including playing music, while filing candidacy. He warned against such activities as the law completely prohibits fanfare and the code of conduct also prohibits it. The commission warned of taking strict decisions against those who violate the code of conduct. He urged them to submit their nomination papers by adhering to the code of conduct faithfully. Acting Chief Election Commissioner Bhandari claimed that the upcoming elections will be held in a clean, free, impartial and fear-free environment. He also urged them not to doubt that the elections will not take place.

‘There will be fanfare, including playing music, while filing candidacy. This is completely prohibited by law.’ The code of conduct has prohibited it,' he said, 'If you go to submit your nomination papers without using the activities prohibited by the code of conduct and faithfully follow the code of conduct, then the upcoming election will be held in a clean, free, impartial, and fear-free environment among all stakeholders, including voters, and people abroad who are watching it closely, who are interested and concerned about Nepal's elections. There should be no doubt or suspicion in this election.'
