It is claimed that a majority of delegates from Rautahat have reached the capital on Saturday for the special general convention to be held on December 10 and 11 at the call of Nepali Congress general secretaries Gagan Thapa and Bishwaprakash Sharma.
Congress District Working Committee Secretary Ramchandra Giri said that around 60 percent of the delegates from Rautahat have reached the capital. ‘There are 103 delegates from all four constituencies of Rautahat, out of which 70 had signed for the special general convention,’ he said, ‘Of the ones who signed, 8 did not go. All the rest reached the capital.’
The Congress presidents of eight districts of Madhesh Province had issued a statement urging leaders, cadres and members of all levels of the party not to participate in any activities that would go against the party constitution. But most of the delegates who signed their request did not accept it. Congress Madhesh Province President Krishna Yadav said that only 25 delegates from Rautahat went to the capital for the special general convention.
