Chandragadhi Airport has been closed due to continuous fog since morning. The airport was closed until 12 noon as the visibility required for flight take-off and landing was not reached due to the fog.
According to Airport Chief Kishore Kumar Khatri, a minimum visibility of 2,200 meters is required for a plane to land, but flights can be made in 1,000 meters of visibility after meeting certain criteria.
‘A Buddha Air plane took off at 11:45 a.m. after meeting certain criteria, but it did not land,’ he said, ‘but the airport opened after 12:00. The plane is preparing to fly from Kathmandu to Chandragadhi.’
