Due to continuous rain and snowfall, the footpaths of 6 places in the world's highest peak, Mount Everest, have been destroyed. 6 different footpaths in Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality, where Mount Everest is located, were destroyed.

According to the rural municipality, 6 footpaths in 3 wards of Khumbu area have been destroyed due to the rain since last 18th. Village Chairman Mingma Chiri Sherpa has issued a notice asking tourists to visit only after being fully informed as the footpaths of Ward No. 3, 3 and 5 have been destroyed.

The footpath from Jorasalle to Hilary Bridge in Ward No. 3 has been destroyed by a landslide, while the road from Mongjanda to Gokyo in Ward No. 4, the road from Porche Thenga to Forche and the road from Forche to Gokyo have also been destroyed.

Similarly, the road from Namche to Furte in Ward No. 5 has been damaged and the road from Thame Bridge to Thame has also been destroyed due to landslides according to Chairman Sherpa  . Since the footpath is broken, the municipality has asked the tourists, guides and locals to walk only with full information. 

The rural municipality has started the reconstruction of the damaged footpath. Now, after the people's walking path has deteriorated, tourists are using the walking path of Khachhad and Jokpe.
