Social media ban: 'Content creator' worried, who said what?

I am not able to react to this decision of the government. My entire work is on YouTube. Now I have gradually shifted to Facebook as well. I am a bit 'kind of depressed' when what I have worked hard for is closed.'

With the government's decision to shut down social networks, content creators have become worried. They have become worried after the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology decided to close 26 social networks including YouTube and Facebook on Thursday.

They have been producing content such as 'expreneur videos', 'travel vlogs', 'food vlogs' on YouTube and expressed their concern by condemning the government's move. Victor Paudel, the owner of the page called 'Routine of Nepal Band' on the social network, said that the government has done wrong and said that it will affect the lives of common people as well. 'I am not only saying this for me, it is connected with the lives of our common people. This is a problem for everyone. The government itself is not clear as to why it did the ban. This is a wrong decision of the government,' he said to Kantipur, 'Regulation is a good thing, but this control is not acceptable.'

Dipesh Tripathi, the creator of 'The Nepali Comment', said that the government's decision is ridiculous. Satirizing the government, he said, 'Why is this only 25/26 social network? Rather, the Internet is not a band. He said that it is ridiculous and irresponsible for the government to take this decision without any preparation. 'This is not a personal decision. This is not a decision taken by Nepali Congress or UML. This is a decision taken by the government of Nepal,' Tripathi said, 'What do we want from this decision? Does the state have an answer to this?'

Similarly, Saroj Karki, the creator of the YouTube channel called 'Project Kura', also said that the government is on the wrong path. 'We should be afraid of this step of the government. The government has gone on the wrong path,' he said, 'It is wrong to create such an environment where you are told to speak but you are locked up in a dark room so that no one's voice can be heard.' Karki expressed his suspicion that the government may have committed bullying at the registration stage itself. He added, 'It should be registered. That is a good thing. But how to register, where to register. I think the government has been bullied in this.'

Manjima Manandhar, the creator of the 'food vlog' called 'My Darling Food', said that the government's control is wrong. She told the story that she was cheated on Tiktok and said that there is no basis that the government regulates it well. Let's assume that this decision of the government is for regulation. It may be that our 'data' is safe, but Tiktok is registered and even scams are happening from there. Even if YouTube or Facebook is registered tomorrow, what is the guarantee that we will be safe?' Manjima questioned.

Advocate and creator of YouTube channel named 'Random Nepali' Rashtravimochan Timalsena has sought the reason why only 26 social networks have been closed. What is the reason for listing only 26 social networks? Why should they be listed? There are other social networks. Why are they not closed?,' Timalsena said, 'What is the 'threshold' for the closure of these 26? This is doubtful.'

Similarly, artist and creator Sanjok Koirala said that this decision of the government will also affect other online businessmen. Because of this, not only the content creators. It also causes a lot of problems in other businesses,' said Koirala, 'Some people are staying to do something in Nepal, and they will also be chased.'

Sudip Subedi, the creator of YouTube channel named 'Indeft Story', also said that the decision of the government is wrong and it can determine the life of the government. Speaking live through his own YouTube channel on Thursday, he said, 'It determines the lifespan of many subjects. It will also determine the lifespan of the government.'

comedian and creator Sajan Shrestha said that he is worried because of the government's decision. He said, 'I am unable to react to this decision of the government. My entire work is on YouTube. Now I have gradually shifted to Facebook as well. I am a bit 'kind of depressed' when what I have worked hard for is closed.'
