After spending 13 years in foreign employment, Suraj Shrestha was determined to do something within Nepal. But he was not clear on what work to start. He was thinking about opening a quick, easy and tasty tea snack shop.

He spent three years studying just to move forward with this thought. Do the markets, what is the taste of the local ? What kind of place do people want to sit and eat? What could be everyone's favorite snack? And can some originality be added to such a work? Looking for answers to similar questions, he started Chiagram in Tilottama Municipality-3 Yogikuti last November.

Chiagram is not like a fancy restaurant. It is made in a style reminiscent of rural architecture. The flickering of lights under the thatched roof. Old lanterns, radios, bamboo caps, kettles, tire rings around the living area, a place to enjoy playing gatta, are structural features of Chiagram.

46-year-old Suraj spends his entire time here. He chats with the customer, takes feedback, is always interested to see if there is something to be improved. Palpa's Raithane dishes from Chukauni, Noodles, Batuk, Pakoda, Celroti are the favorite dishes of many in Chiagram . Another signature flavor of Chiagram is tea served in edible cups.

After drinking tea, the cup can be eaten like a biscuit, so new customers who come to her often experience it. Leaving the cup after drinking tea is a common custom. But a year ago, he saw a scene on Instagram, drinking a cup after having tea. It was a scene from a cafe in Kolkata, India. After seeing such a cup, he also thought, 'Why not bring such a cup to Nepal?'

In the beginning, he jumped from Nepalgunj to Kathmandu in search of a table cup. While searching, he calculated that it would be easier to buy from suppliers in Kathmandu than to bring it from India. It was new for many that they could have a cup after drinking tea. Today, teagram has become the choice of many because of this. Because, the customers who come here take pictures of themselves having tea and cups and put them on social media. And teagram will be promoted. In Teagram, 200 cups of tea are sold daily in this amount of cups.

because of the local taste in a modern style, he also came to him  Chukauni, batuk, pakoda are also preferred by many people. Being fond of traditional taste, Suraj remembers that when he was a child, the people of Butwal used to go to Jordhara, Dumre of Palpa to eat chukauni, batuk, and pakoda. He seems happy that he has helped to inform the youth of today about Raithane dishes and to keep that taste forever .

'very  Customers come by looking at social networks,' he said, 'We are cooking food at cheap rates, which is driving taste and pocket expenses in a parallel way and we have become the choice of customers.' He suddenly thought, "Did I make good use of those days," he said, "I sold labor abroad and earned money, but I felt that I had wasted my time." At that time, if I had done something in Nepal with a small investment, now I could have made Nepaliness a brand.' Instead, he believes that the work he started is becoming successful and that he should continue to work harder. He said that he wants to develop tea as a brand associated with rituals, beginning of relationship, happiness and Nepalese customs.

He is happy that the teagram started by spending more than 25 lakhs has won the hearts of many people. He cannot forget the love of social media and social influencers who play a role in increasing the discussion of Chiagram. He says, 'It is a mistake to develop Chiagram, known as a village within the city, in this way.'
