Narendra Kumar Gupta, a candidate of the National Independent Party, has been elected to the House of Representatives from West Nawalparasi Constituency No. 2. Active in social and political activities, 48-year-old Gupta has played an active role in Nepali Congress politics for a long time.

Gupta's political journey began with the student movement. He started politics through the Nepal Students' Union, a sister organization of the Nepali Congress, and became the regional president.

He joined the National Independent Party and became a candidate in the House of Representatives elections just before the 2017 local level elections.

Gupta, who was the candidate for the post of mayor of Ramgram Municipality from the Nepali Congress, won in the 2017 local level elections. However, in the 2017 local level elections, he was defeated in the post of mayor.

With the election results announced, the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer is scheduled to present the victory certificate to newly elected MP Gupta at 7 am today.
