Analyst Dinesh Shrestha says that her victory, competing with established parties and experienced leaders, has given a new message to the political equation of Morang. Born in the Oil Corporation area of Biratnagar-4, Rubina spent her childhood in Biratnagar. She received her early education from Eden National Secondary Boarding School. She completed her Plus Two studies from Maryland College Biratnagar and then studied MBA from Kathmandu University.
Her identity in public life was made through social campaigns. She was close to the Bibeksheel Sajha Party founded by the late youth leader Ujwal Thapa. During the 2074 BS House of Representatives elections, she played an active role in the election campaign from Bibeksheel Sajha. After that, she worked in the Bagmati Province Committee of the youth organization of Bibeksheel Sajha Party. While remaining active within the party, she also became a central member. During this time, she made her political identity by working on issues of good governance, transparency and policy reforms.
Rubina has also been equally active in social movements and civic campaigns. Recently, she was involved in the movement launched by Govinda KC for medical education reform. Similarly, she was seen at the forefront of the 'Hot Rice Campaign' and activities against violence against women during the Corona pandemic. According to political analysts, the basis of Rubina's victory is the general disillusionment with the old parties.
