Narayangopal is not only famous because of his voice, he is always remembered because of many anecdotes of his life. There are many stories about his interesting behavior. He is also discussed because of his love affair with Pemla Lama.

V.No. The love between Pemla and Narayan, which lasted from 2021 to 2026, started as a correspondence. Many letters were exchanged between them during this love journey.

In their loving correspondence, many small episodes of life have come in a tasteful style . Among them, it seems that they can write 3-4 letters in a month .

A letter written by Pemla to Narayangopal reads, 'Dear Chattuji! Lots and lots of love .'

Even at the end of this letter, Pemla writes in the same loving tone, 'Lots of love to my Chhattu .' In the

letter, Pemla has written, 'Gopal, how long should we prolong our fight now?  We have a whole life ahead of us to fight, don't we?'

Pemla has expressed her love in a letter from her heart. She wrote, 'Truly I could not understand your heart, but I have always understood your love.'

Narayangopal once went to Baroda, India to study classical music. He starts writing letters to Pemla from there. Pemla writes that 'Swargki Rani Mayaki Khani' played on Radio Nepal at that time was very popular even in her college life and to appease Narayangopal's anger expressed in the letter, she says -

Swargki Rani Mayaki Khani don't go to the mine of anger,

Don't be ashamed and leave the habit of anger and come back...!

Pemla, who lives a masterly life in Maiti at Sukiya Pokhari, 10 miles away from Darjeeling city, begins to fall 'crazy' in love with Narayangopal. Narayangopal's love for a naive woman whose parents have passed away, who grew up under the care of her brothers and sisters, comes out in this way.

In the period of 3 years after the letter, Narayangopal and Pemla have taken a life-death oath. Narayangopal advises Pemla to take the BA exam along with the exchange of songs, music, literature, and Pemla insists Narayangopal to study BA too. And, Narayangopal passed his graduation in history.

With various ups and downs, Narayangopal and Pemla Lama get married on February 24, 1970. And, that couple becomes an eternal love couple forever. Committed to his word, Narayangopal wrote in response to the missing letter sent to Pemla, "I have kept one letter in sequence". Later I would like to publish a book of these letters.'
