Welcoming the New Year in Aldershot, UK

Nepalis living in Aldershot area of ​​UK are welcoming the Nepali New Year 2082 grandly. Different communities, societies and organizations here are welcoming the new year by organizing formal and informal programs.

British people also flocked to a special event organized by the Greater Rushmore Nepali Community (GRNC) UK at the Empire Hall Aldershot on Saturday evening. According to GRNC President Man Gurung, the organization established in 2003 has been doing various charity work in Aldershot, UK and also in Nepal. He said that he has been working to protect and promote Nepali language, art and culture.

This year's New Year welcome and various programs were inaugurated by Rushmur Borough Councilor Mayor Councilor Mara Makunara, Member of Parliament and Head of Nepal Affairs Alex Baker, Program Chairman Man Gurung and Founder Executive Chairman Ramchandra Gurung. Buddhist Community Center (BCC) UK religious guru Khenpo Senang, Khenpo Furtemba and Pandit Shiva Ballabh Regmi gave blessings along with prayers.

'The relationship between Britain and Nepal dates back centuries. It is necessary to make it more dense,' said MP Alex Baker. She said that Nepali customs and culture enchanted everyone.  Ramchandra Gurung, founder and acting president of

English song featured flute tunes as well as the endangered ghantu dance. Purnaraj Gurung, president of Lamjung Samaj UK, said that the Nepali New Year has created an environment where Nepalis can gather and exchange joys and sorrows.
