There are 455 malnourished children in the district. Out of 50,262 children in the age group of 6 months to 59 months, 179 boys and 276 girls were found to be malnourished.

Malnourished children are being identified and treated using the 'Muwak Tape' and 'Z Score' method. It has been found that 8 severe, 42 moderate and 45 normal people have malnutrition in the district. They are being treated by Nutritional Treatment Centers (OTC) operated under 10 local health posts. Nutrition Focal Person of the District Health Office Mohammad Ifan said that malnutrition can be cured after 3 months of treatment for severe cases and two months for normal and moderate cases.

Sushmita Sharma, field officer of Life Transformation Program run by Helen Keller International, said that due to lack of awareness, she was born in a village in the southern region and was fed only mother's and cow's milk for two years. "For nutrition, you need to feed bed, blanket and nutritious things," she said, "The problem is increasing due to laziness in the village, not feeding and not feeding regularly." In a recent survey, 669 out of 46 thousand 380 children were found to be malnourished. This is also starting to appear as a problem .

Malnutrition causes physical and mental problems when people grow up. Mukesh Chaudhary said. "If malnutrition is not reduced, the state's investment in education, health and social sectors will not be effective," he said.

Nutrition Focal Person of the Health Office, Mohammad Efan, said that children's mental development takes place within two years of birth. Malnutrition causes problems in the mental and physical development of children and causes many problems when they grow up. That is why it should be brought under control by early treatment and care," he said.
